New Zealand TV Audio Frequencies
by ZL2TAR as provided by ZL2IP
ZL Channel 1 sound frequencies.
Hikurangi (Far North) 50.760000
TeAroha (Waikato) 50.739200
Whakapunaki (Gisborne) 50.760000
Kaukau (Wellington) 50.749600
Mt Studholme (Sth Canterbury) 50.739200
Hedgehope (Southland) 50.749600
The above frequencies include a -400Hz offset to minimise the visibility of
the vision-chroma-sound 3rd order intermodulation beat generated inside domestic
receivers.
He quotes the frequency accuracy of non-precision offsets as better than 500Hz,
and that of precision offsets less than .001Hz, but does not identify which
transmitters are which.
This was from an article by Doug Ingham, ZL2TAR who is a TV transmitter engineer
with BCL limited, which has design and management responsibilities for most
of the ZL TV network, so I guess it is correct. The article date was March
1999.
